Woodhill Sands – Upcoming Events 

Woodhill Sands operates year round, across all disciplines and at all levels of riding from training days and grass roots events up to Grand Prix Show Jumping and regional Dressage Championships.

We've come to the end of our Spring series but have an exciting summer calendar of events planned.  You can view the calendar till the end of the year here.  Details of our new year calendar up to the end of March can be viewed here. You can also see information and the schedules for these shows in our Upcoming Events section of the website and you can enter these days on Evo Events.

Entries for our Spring Series are now open on Evo Events. Keep an eye out in our website and FB pages for updates to what will be happening over the coming months.  

Horse welfare is of vital importance at Woodhill Sands and will be monitored during your stay.  Woodhill Sands hold shows that are registered with ESNZ as well as open days, clinics and grass roots training days.  We take horse welfare issues very seriously and any concerns raised will be investigated.  Any horse welfare issues will not be tolerated.  Please report any incidents you have observed or concerns you have to the event staff or officials on site at the venue.  The FEI has a Code of Conduct for the Welfare of the Horse and this guides and informs our approach in this area.  This code can be viewed here.

Each show has information about it the upcoming events section and updates about specifics for the show will be posted on our Facebook page during the lead up for these days.  All those attending must enter through Evo Events . We do ask for payment at time of entry.  This is available via the Poli Payment system or Stripe.

During the summer months we have a full calendar of spring and summer shows with something for everyone.  During Spring we have GP SJ shows and the Spring Festival of Dressage and Show Hunter.  During the Summer months we have a schedule of Grand Prix Show Jumping shows with all the popular ESNZ series classes Horse Grand Prix, Pony Grand Prix, Young Rider, Junior Rider, Pro Am Rider, and Amateur Rider Series. We also run a number of Woodhill Sands series across the summer months.  Details of these are published in the calendar booklets for these shows. 

In addition to our GP SJ shows over the summer months, we hold a number of other events covering Mini ODEs, clinics and casual open days, dressage days, grass roots jumping days  and derbies.  During the autumn and winter months we hold a number of grassroots Dressage days, Show Hunter, Show Jumping and Mini ODE days which are part of series with awards at the end of of the shows up for grabs!!

Details of all of our shows as well as those run by our user groups covering the other discliplines are outlined below.  Updates will be provided through our website and FB pages with details if there are any changes to our shows. Details on the schedules for the shows may be found under the details of each event or can be found on Evo Events.  If you have any questions around the shows organised by another group at Woodhill Sands, please contact them directly.

Outlined below are the upcoming events at Woodhill Sands. Our venue uses EVO Events to manage entries and associated aspects of the event (draws, yarding, scoring etc).  Links to specific events help at Woodhill Sands can be found below in our event schedule or go direct to EVO  Events to find out what events are happening around your part of the country through various show providers. Online entries can be done via Evo Events.  We now offer payment via Poli or Stripe (credit cards) for online entries.  Please use these services to pay for your entries at the time of entering as this will ensure that your entry into the event is secured.

Please note that the venue has a speed limit of 10km at ALL times.  The venue has a no dog rule, which includes not having dogs on site but in a vehicle. Please review our Event H & S Policy here.  Further information can be found in the Health & Safety section of our website (in the About Us section).

Woodhill Group Summer Grand Prix Show Jumping Show

The 5th and 6th of October is the first weekend of our Summer Grand Prix SJ shows with the Woodhill Group Summer Grand Prix Show Jumping Show. 

Enjoy a great weekend of spring jumping at this Woodhill Sands GP Show Jumping event.  

All the popular ESNZ jumping series classes are back with Junior Rider, Young Rider Amateur Rider, Pro Am Rider and Horse and Pony Grand Prix series. Intro classes for hacks start from 70cm and Ponies from 60cm.  Get your entries in quickly (via Evo Events).  Please pay via Poli or Stripe (credit card) for on line entries at the time of entry.

We also have classes for our popular Horse and Pony Super Series, the Masters League series and the Pony Futurity Series.  These summer shows also welcome back the Auckland Cup Qualifiers for Horses and Ponies with the final being decided at our February Auckland Champs Show Jumping Show.

The Masters League is open to riders 40yrs and over as at 1 Aug 2024 who haven't placed at 1.10m or over in the current/previous season.  August to December will be 90 to 95cm and January and February will be 95cm to 1m. The final will be held at the Auckland Show Jumping Champs in February.

The Pony Futurity Series is open to combinations not jumping over 95cm in th current and previous season and the final will also be held at the Auckland Show Jumping Champs in February.
