The Woodhill Sands Trust was established in 2016 as a charitable trust, by a group from the Auckland equestrian sports community. It is registered under The Charitable Trusts Act and has an Inland Revenue approved income tax exemption.

The Woodhill Sands Trust is governed by a group of volunteer Trustees who are business professionals and equestrians and are resourceful, pragmatic and effective in working with limited resources.
Paul is heavily involved with show jumping currently sitting on the ESNZ Jumping Board and the North Island National Equestrian Centre committee. His son is still actively involved in the sport running a team of showjumping horses and coaching. Paul’s career has shifted from academia to small businesses. As a University Lecturer he was part of the team that developed the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Auckland and he has co-authored two secondary school Chemistry text books. Paul’s business interests include a brewery, a gastro pub and a supporting role in his wife Kirsty’s pharmacy. His beers have won trophies in New Zealand and Australia and “Brew|Craft Beer Pub” has won Rotorua’s Bar of the Year six times and is consistently recommended as one of the best local watering holes by Lonely Planet. Over the years Paul has been the subject of two New Zealand and two Australian television shows with, amongst others, Wallace Chapman and Paul Mercurio. The pharmacy is a cornerstone of the Ngongotahā community and delivers pharmaceutical services to a community with high levels of deprivation. Paul recognises the critical value of Woodhill Sands to equestrian sport and looks forward to contributing to the success of this mighty venue.
